As we’re heading into Spring I’m starting to think about the transitional wardrobe to lead us into the (hopefully) warmer months. Today I’m sharing my dress edit in collaboration with PrettyLittleThing.
The Casual Weekend
A simple t-shirt dress looks great with trainers and an oversized denim jacket. Here I’ve really focused on the red detailing on the dress and gone a little outside my usual comfort zone and picked a red denim jacket. I’ve worn it a few times since then too, so I think it’s going to be quite a popular piece in my wardrobe this season. A t-shirt dress is a good item to pack if you’re travelling as they take up so little space and you can style them in a few different ways and they’re perfect to throw on over swimwear. There’s a whole selection of them on the PLT website. I quite like this striped one too..
The Day to Night
Dalmatian print is a little different to all the leopard print that I’ve seen lately and it’s a really welcome change. I like to wear green anyway so this was an easy pick. Styling with white boots makes it a bit more ‘edgy’ and these boots have a snake effect to them, which is a really nice detail and makes them look way more expensive. I layered my leather jacket over, picking my pink one over black as I wanted to keep the colours light to match with the boots. I would wear this with black heels and my black biker jacket too though. And I think it’s the kind of skater style dress you could wear to the office too, hence my day to night suggestion!
So this one could be great for a night with the girls or a date night – the latter being what I’m lining up for the next time I wear this. It’s the classic LBD with a twist and the ruffles make it extra playful. It fits really nicely and doesn’t feel too short, but I did find I needed some tape just to make sure there were no outfit malfunctions, ahem. It also comes in a range of colours so if black isn’t your bag, try one of these.
There you go, three dresses to see you through the season and they’re all really affordable. Which one is your favourite?
