Another trip to Edinburgh and a little announcement.
You may have noticed I’ve had quite a lot of time off lately, this wasn’t necessarily planned and as you can probably gather from the photo above, there’s been a few changes lately.
I kept things really quiet but I had an interview for another job and I’ve accepted it. While I’ve enjoyed working at the University, my contract was coming to an end and I needed the security of a permanent position – yes, even at my age I’m thinking about things like that! It was a shame to leave but I’m excited for the new challenges that lay ahead in my new job. I don’t want to say too much about it, but I’ll be within marketing and it’s something different to my previous role at the university.
Including studying, and working as an ambassador, I’ve been at the university just over four years so I am taking a step in a totally new direction, but change is good!
I now have another couple weeks off before I start my new job, so obviously I’m back up to Edinburgh (after just getting back again last night!) Funnily enough, this month I’ve spent more time there than I have at work!
How’s your week been?

Good luck with your new job and how very sensible to secure a permanent position for your future. It's got to be done though since pensions are a bit pants these days!
