Hello Freckles Ytsara Spa Treatment Seaham Hall
Today I want to introduce you to Ytsara, the new ancient thai inspired treatments causing quite a stir at Seaham Hall’s Serenity Spa.

Hello Freckles Ytsara Spa Treatment Seaham Hall
Ytsara, which means Freedom in Thai, is a collection of products and treatments based on ancient therapies and traditions from Thailand. The Ytsara treatments launched at Seaham Hall just a couple of months ago and after the launch evening, I was eager to get along and try one out for myself. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait long and I quickly booked in for a Ytsara Samunprai treatment. Lasting 90 minutes this herbal heat energiser features traditional thai massage techniques, a steamed lemongrass poultice and blue ginger and peppermint essential oils.

The Ytsara treatments are an experience for all the senses. You don’t just lay on a bed and receive a massage, there’s extra special touches; from the lemongrass foot bowl when you enter your treatment room, to stretching and breathing techniques within the treatment. It’s a tradition in thai culture to remove your shoes before entering a room/temple so this is reflected with the treatments. You remove your shoes as you enter the treatment room and soak your feet to cleanse the body of any toxins. The lemongrass bowls smell amazing and the bright blue water, from the indigo petals, is quite something to look at too. If you’ve got ticklish feet (like me) you may have the odd giggle when the warm water is rinsed over your feet, but the therapists have seen this all before!

The steamed poultice is filled with herbs and applied directly to the skin. It’s like a hot stone massage, but with a different texture on the skin so I’m told (I’ve not experience hot stones, but the heat from the poultice was very relaxing) The therapist works on key pressure points with the poultice before using traditional thai massage techiques and leaving you completely refreshed with the blue ginger and peppermint oils. I had the ‘energising’ oil, but if peppermint isn’t your favourite scent, I’m sure you could pick another. Carina, the therapist was great and really friendly.

I’d highly recommend visiting Seaham Hall for a Ytsara treatment, or even one of the Ytsara spa days. It’s unlike any other spa visit I’ve had and really is a whole body experience, with a little gift to take away with you. If you do visit, I’d love to know what you think! Next on their agenda is some Indian inspired spa treatments, so keep your eyes peeled for news of that soon…
