Hello Freckles milk_shake haircare treatment menu
Last week I went along to the Marriott Gateshead (right beside the Metro Centre) to find out all about Milk_shake haircare products.

Firstly, the Marriott looks lovely. I’ve never stayed in one of their hotels but after discussions with Kate who works for them, I now feel like I need to experience how cosy their beds are. Anyway, today I’m chatting about hair products, not beds so let’s not get distracted shall we.

Hello Freckles milk_shake haircare fruit mocktails

We were offered fruity mocktails and introduced to the brand and their range of products. milk_shake products are made just outside of Milan, Italy and imported into the UK. Their key selling point is their natural ingredients, from fruit extracts, to milk proteins, honey and cocoa, milk_shake really want to nourish the hair and feed it the nutrients it needs to be strong and healthy.

Products varied from shampoos, conditioners and treatments to their certified organic argan oil and direct colours which give a semi permanent colour and last between 6-12 washes. They also have a permanent hair colour line too, which still contain the milk proteins the hair needs to stay shiny and healthy.

Hello Freckles milk_shake haircare direct colour range

I never thought I’d be testing my artistic abilities on a Tuesday afternoon to make a hair cocktail, but it was a fun way to see how the products can be combined for treatments and how appealing they look in those glasses.

One thing I have to say, is how great the products smell! Whipped Cream, one of their bestselling products smells absolutely amazing. Their direct colour range also smells good, which you wouldn’t expect from hair dye, but there’s no strong bleach scent and mixed with whipped cream, it smells good enough to eat, just don’t be tempted to reach for the cocktail glass over the cuppa in the salon!

Hello Freckles milk_shake haircare blow dry

There’s a few salons near me who use milk_shake products and you can check online to see if there’s one near you. I’ve also noticed if you go online and fill out a quick form, you can get a free treatment before 30th April. I had a complimentary treatment and blow dry that left my hair so soft and shiny and smelling amazing. You’ll be sniffing your hair for the rest of the day if you get along for a treatment!

Have you tried any milk_shake products?

I only have one of their products which I believe is a conditioning mousse but I adore the smell of it. It looks and smells just like Mr Whippy ice cream and the scent lingers in my hair for a while after using it. I really should reach for it more often but don't tend to because I'm not used to using mousse products x
