  • Event | Vivienne Westwood SS14 Tea Party

Last week I attended a tea party style event at Vivienne Westwood in Newcastle. I was really excited to see pieces from the SS14 collection and knew I was in for a treat.

All guests were greeted with Prosecco on entering the store. As the Newcastle store isn’t really big enough for a typical catwalk, two models walked around showcasing some amazing pieces from the new collection, changing every so often to a new garment. I particularly liked the floral dress and the jumpsuit looked amazing on the girl (who unfortunately I didn’t get the name of); I’m not so sure I could pull it off with my average to short-ish legs and lack of chest. Oh well.

It certainly felt like a classy British tea party, with Pims and Gin and Tonic served in dainty floral teacups and some amazing food. Even the mini macarons had a gold glimmer.

I’ve admired Vivienne Westwood for years, first being introduced when I spotted someone wear those orb earrings and I knew I needed to find out where they’d bought them! Then in sixth form, I saw two students with the Pirate boots and around that time the Ultragirl flats were getting pretty popular. Probably because they weren’t that expensive and they really do last such a long time. Again, I find myself wanting to buy another pair of the Ultragirl flats. Do I need them? No, I’ve already got this pair. Do I want them? Oh yes I do! Possible graduation present?

Are you a fan of Vivienne Westwood? Which pieces would you like in your wardrobe?

Amazing post! This event looks fab! I love myself some Vivienne Westwood! I like how they are designer but still quite reasonably priced so they are more accessible and how Asos tend to have reductions quite requently so I can get a good bargain :p

That dress in the first photo is gorgeous, it's a shame I don't have more garden parties to attend this year, it would be perfect. Looks like a fantastic event.

I can't imagine there being an event space on a more random named street, with better views, than this place! I went here again last night for an album release party.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at this place. It was absolutely perfect! The manager and his staff were excellent and wonderful to work with.
