  • Revolution Newcastle Re Launch Party

On Saturday night I put on my Topshop Allegras and took my boyfriend along to Revolution Newcastle for their Re-Launch party.

It was very busy, as is the norm on a Saturday night in Newcastle, but I suspect Revolution was extra busy with the promise of free drinks and nibbles on offer; too good for the locals to turn down.

Andrew and I were welcomed in and offered free drinks from women in extravagant feathered outfits (for some reason I didn’t get a photo of them but think burlesque, with feathers)

We found a place to stand out of the way where we could soak up the atmosphere of the party. An acoustic live band were playing covers, I especially liked their rendition of ‘Get Lucky’ and it was nice to see someone with a ukulele rather than a guitar. Following their set was the DJ Rojaxx playing a mix of hits and the dancefoor certainly saw some moves.

Lots of nibbles were on offer, we particularly liked the mini burgers (in fact we went along to Revolution yesterday for lunch and I treated Andrew to one of the burgers while I opted for the pulled pork denver fries, mmm) and the chorizo and sweet potato sticks were really good too.

Whilst drinking our cocktails and enjoying the free food, we heard the sound of saxophone and drums. I figured it was just part of the track, until I noticed they’d featured in every track for over ten minutes. These two guys below then came walking around the bar and it all made sense. It was really cool to see live entertainment like that, especially walking among everyone, causing quite a scene (In a good way, may I add).

There’s been a six figure investment transforming the bar into it’s new feel and it looks great. The lights along the bar look fantastic and the glasses being stored above rather than below the bar is not only probably really convenient for the bar staff, but it looks really good too.

There’s plenty of space in the bar to relax, chat and enjoy drinks and the decor looks great. We had a great night and it was nice to do something a little bit different, I can’t remember the last time Andrew and I actually went out for some drinks together, we tend to spend out weekends at home watching TV (specifically Dexter at the moment)

Get down to Revolution Newcastle to see for yourself and let me know what you think! 2 for 1 cocktails are always a good shout too if you need an excuse to get along!

I had my wedding here back in May last year and I felt like it was a perfect day for us! Plus all of us dressed up only added to the entire ambience.
